With services from American, Delta, and United, along with Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar, LAX is one of the most competitive destinations for international travel.

Because of the competition at LAX, airlines have added larger planes and more routes. To keep up, United announce the new longest flight option to or from the U.S.—a nonstop flight from Los Angeles to Singapore.

In 2016, Qatar added passenger service to Los Angeles and increased their cargo capabilities.

The single route from Dubai to Los Angeles added $270 million in annual spending by visitors. Based on this success, Emirates added a second route in 2016 allowing them to meet demand and increase their positive economic impact on the Los Angeles area.
